Community Bible Church (CBC) believes that all matters of faith and conduct must be correctly understood and evaluated based on the Bible, the Word of God, which is our inspired, infallible, and inerrant guide. (2 Timothy 3:16–17). CBC fully embraces the unchanging commands, teachings, and biblical principles from the Word of God. (Isaiah 40:8; 1 Peter 1:25)
God created and said that the wonderful institution of marriage is a lifetime covenant which should only be enjoyed by the union of a male and a female.“And Jesus answered and said, “Have you not read that He who created [them] from the beginning made them male and female and said, ‘for this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? “So they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate” (Matthew 19:4-6). CBC believes that any other form of sexual intimacy outside the biblical institution of marriage is both immoral and a perversion of God’s gift. (Genesis 2:24-25; Proverbs 5:18; 1 Corinthians 7:5; 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5; Hebrews 13:4; Leviticus 18:1-30; Proverbs 6:32; 1 Corinthians 6:18; Romans 1:26-27)
CBC’s detailed statement on marriage and human sexuality can be found in the church’s beliefs and bylaws and in the discovery class notebook for new members.
